Peru has it all, from the pacific coast to Andean mountains to the Amazon jungle. This program will let you travel in midst of beautiful places such as the stone citadel of Machu Picchu the "lost city of the Incas", Cusco the archaeological capital of South America, Explore the huge Amazonic jungle and fundamentally coexist with its natural environment.
PROGRAM : Machu Picchu & biosphere. DURATION : 7 days / 5 nights. TYPE : Eco tourism. DEPARTS : All year.
ITINERARY:
Day 1: Cusco - City Tour - Saccsayhuaman Arriving to Cusco and transfering to the hotel; a free morning to acclimate. At 2:00 p.m. you will visit Qoricancha temple; known as Temple of the Sun , you will visit the main plaza, the Cathedral and the archaeological sites: Saccsayhuaman, Qenqo, Pukapukara and Tambomachay. after returning to your hotel.
Day 2: Cusco Sacred Valley At 8:00 a.m. We will pick you up from the hotel and start the trip to the Sacred Valley. You will visit the colorful market of Pisaq, colorful villages that borders the Vilcanota river, have lunch in Urubamba. And later on you will have a short stroll to Ollantaytambo's archaeological complex. On your way back to Cusco, you will visit the artisan market and main plaza of Chinchero. Then return to your hotel in Cusco.
Day 3: Cusco Machu Picchu At 5:45 am you will go to the train station and take the train that will take you to Machu Picchu, a four hour trip enjoying beautiful landscapes on the way until arriving to the town of Aguas Calientes. A 2 hour guided visit to the citadel of Machu Picchu, and 1 hour so you can visit it by your self, lunch and return to Cusco (optional overnight stay in the town of Aguas Calientes with visiting the medicinal and thermal baths).
Day 4: Cusco free day A free day in the city of Cusco (Optional is a tour to south part of the valley . Tipon, Pikillacta, Andahuaylillas Chapel, the Salt mines in Maras and the agriculturist center of Moray). If what your looking is for adrenalin, we recommend rafting in Urubamba river.
Day 5: Cusco - Pilcopata - Puerto Maldonado - Tambopata At the scheduled time you are transfered from your hotel to the airport to take a 45 minute flight to Puerto Maldonado. A short visit to the town, you then travel 2 hours, to the ecological lodge that borders the river Madre de Dios, accommodations in bungalows. Will be provided typical lunch and a trip to Monkey Island, then return to your lodge to have a pleasant dinner and overnight stay.
Day 6: Puerto Maldonado - Jungle After breakfast you can walk towards the center part of the jungle known as lost Cocha or lost Lake. refuge and habitat for different species of reptiles, birds, fish, and various types of insects. You continue walking over wooded trails towards a magical viewpoint. Finally taking a small boat. You return to the lodge for lunch and in the afternoon. You can take an optional visit to the botanical garden. Dine and your overnight stay.
Day 7: Puerto Maldonado - Cusco Breakfast and transfer to the airport in Puerto Maldonado and board your flight for return to Cusco city.
End of the program.
