Machu Picchu Jewel of the Inca Architecture

 

Considered as a Wonder of the world, Machu Picchu is an architectural  jewel situated between the Andes and the upper jungle, in a strategic and hidden point. An early trip by train (4 hours) will take you to the town of Aguas Calientes where a bus will take you until the gates of the Inca citadel. Machu Picchu has been nominated by some as the "lost city  of the Incas". Where you will be able to appreciate this old Andean wonder world, surrounded by beautiful landscapes and exotic flora and fauna. During the route you will see the different capricious architectural enclosures adhered to the mountain where temples like  Intihuatana, the three window temple, the main plaza,  narrow paths,  homes,  water channels surrounded by Andenerías and its protector mountain Huaynapicchu. After eating  lunch you will return to Aguas Calientes and take the train back to Cusco.  

 

Ways to get at Machu Picchu :

First : The first way is by train from Cusco or from Ollantaytambo in the Sacred Valley. 

Second : The other option is the Inca trail, along the 4 day route, starting from Chilca, passing by Huayllabamba, the passage of Warmihuañusca located at 4200 meters above sea level, Pacaymayo, Runkurakay, Phuyupatamarca, Wiñaywayna, Inti Punko (Sun gate) and finally Machu Picchu fallow, and the way is a 2 day trip starting from the 104 km. of the railway pass by Wiñawayna, Inti Punko and Machu Picchu.

Third : The bridge in  Carrilluchayoc is the newest way to get to the town of Aguas Calientes from where you can easily reach Machu Picchu. All this is a tropical zone from Santa Maria and Santa Teresa wich belongs to la Convención and Quillabamba, also haveing for the visitor wonderful alternatives for an Eco Adventure.
